Starta Ventures Launches a Free Online Accelerator
New York accelerator Starta adapts to new realities and announces the creation of a hybrid acceleration program: half a month of intensive online coaching and training in preparation for entering the US market and the ability to join any offline batch lasting 3 months. In the online portion of the program, startups get access to copyrighted content, weekly assignments, as well as consultations with Starta Ventures partners and mentors. This will get them prepared for the offline portion of the program. Upon arrival in New York, 15 top-performing companies will receive 20K to cover the cost of a 3-month stay in NY and virtually, a full-fledged functioning front office. There are part-time employees for all important competencies.
This will allow startups to start testing their hypotheses and build offline relationships with partners and investors from the first day.
“We have long noticed a problem related to the lack of proper preparation for acceleration programs in New York,” says Alexey Girin, Starta’s General Partner, “Startups don’t quite understand what awaits them in America, what steps can be taken before the start of the batch. First of all, in order not to waste time warming up, prepare for legal issues, market analysis, customs, adaptation of marketing materials and so on. Plus the whole story with the closure of borders, quarantine. We decided to make a flexible decision - go through part of the preparation from home, and then choose which batch to join and participate in a demo day.”
The online accelerator starts on May 1, 2020 and it will be an ongoing program. That is to say, you can start training at any time. The requirements for startups are simple - they must have an MVP, sales in the home region and the desire to make the American market the main market. Top online program participants will receive an investment from Starta and will be invited to New York. Applications can be submitted on the website.
